Custom T-shirt Labels and Tags

E-commerce, t-shirt

So I am close to launching my t-shirt website. In a previous post, I discussed that I plan to print the t-shirt designs myself using a heat press and a vinyl printer. To increase my brand awareness, I plan to replace the existing t-shirt tag with a label that included my logo. While researching the market, I found that I have multiple options. I also found that the Federal Trade Commission has a rule (The Care Labeling Rule) that requires manufacturers and importers to attach care instructions to garments.

The blank Gildan t-shirts that I purchased contains two tags – the first displays the Gildan brand name and the other tag displays the size and care instructions. I had to decide whether to remove both tags or just remove the Gildan branded tag.

E-commerce, Magento

For the last couple of days, I have been trying to move the search bar under the navigation bar. This is my 3rd iteration of a Magento theme for my t-shirt site. After I converted the design into a Magento theme (a couple of weeks ago), I decided to go into a different direction – procrastination at it’s best. While creating this new theme, I spent a couple of days trying to move the search bar under the navigation bar. It was actually quite easy.

Magento Theme: Changing topLinks

E-commerce, Magento

I’m building a webstore using Magento. I’ve used osCommerce in the past, but with this new store, I wanted to try a different e-commerce package. While creating the Magento theme, I could not figure out how to change/remove the the menu items on the top links on the site (My Account, Wishlist, Checkout, Login). It was actually quite easy.
